The Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments has released the official "Collect" for the Optional Memorial on October 22 of St. John Paul II.

O God, who are rich in mercy

and who willed that St. John Paul the Second

should preside as Pope over your universal CHurch.

Grant, we pray, that instructed by his teaching,

we may open our hearts to the saving grace of Christ,

the sole Redeemer of mankind.

Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,

one God, for ever and ever.

The National Liturgy Office and CCCB Publications have been receiving inquiries around the Book of Gospels.  The Book of Gospels is being printed.  It is to be launched at the 2015 Plenary Assembly of the CCCB in September.  It will be available for purchase in two sizes following the Plenary Assembly.

The first of three volumes (Year B) of the NRSV Psalms will be going to the printers within the month.  Most of the compositions are by Canadian composers.  Year C will follow shortly after for printing.  All the Psalms in this three volume set are the NRSV translation of the Psalms taken from the Canadian Edition of the Lectionary: Sundays and Solemnities.
